Mu Cang Chai is a district of Yen Bai province where locates about some 300 kilometers north of Ha Noi which is the place is home to the H’Mong and Thai community. This recognizing rice field is situated in the northeastern region of Vietnam. This region is the steep hills which is about 1000 meters above the seas level. The area is impossibly to grow the rice as the same as the Delta region. For this reason pushes the local residences find the way to grow their rice on the terraced fields. The main purpose for created terrace is for preventing water from flow downhill for their rice farming.
The terraced rice fields now is becoming very popular destination for local and international tourists come to visit. It is well known as a very beautiful scenery with different season, during wet season when the time of rice growing it is beautiful green, and during harvesting period it is yellow and gold. The terraced rice field is attracting numerous photographers.
